You know the usb plug in the back has a notoriously short life and will short out within a few months.

What you want to do first is remove the 4 screws located underneath the rubber pads
(you can do this with a flathead screw driver, make sure to keep them sticky side up)

Remove the screws, genitally pull apart where the vents are

The inside will look like this.

Now cut the wires and splice them like I did right here.

Put it back together

Good to go!

ReplyDeletegreat post!! ill have to try it soon.
ReplyDeleteHey do these actually work and keep your laptop cool? WHy I ask is because you are powering it through your usb, isnt that making your laptop hotter anyway? like a catch 22 kinda thing..
ReplyDeleteha! awesome.
ReplyDelete@ fatdaddy, lol!
ReplyDelete@sweeeeetas, yeah it does keep it cool, I'd leave my laptop on for hours cause I download a lot of music, movies and media, my laptop would get really really hot, especially around the mouse area.
With a cooling pad it keeps it cool. better ventilation will reduce overheating of the components and increase your laptops overall life.
